Alien Nosejob: The Australian Shape-Shifters of Rock

Alien Nosejob began as the brainchild of Jake Robertson—an Australian musical polymath known for his work with acts like Ausmuteants, Frowning Clouds, Smarts, and School Damage. Originally conceived as a solo project to sidestep the complexities of managing a full band, Alien Nosejob has since evolved into a full-fledged four-piece force, delivering its eclectic sounds from down under to stages across the world.

With a prolific discography spanning a dozen releases, Alien Nosejob refuses to be pigeonholed. From the lo-fi bedroom punk and new-wave stylings of Paint It Clear, to the raw, unrelenting hardcore of Once Again The Present Becomes The Past, to the uncannily AC/DC-inspired riffs of Stained Glass, and the cheekily genre-defying Buffet of Love, the project showcases Robertson's uncanny knack for shape-shifting between styles while maintaining a cohesive artistic identity.

Now on tour as a full band, Alien Nosejob’s live performances bring to life the variety and inventiveness of one of rock’s premier home-recording auteurs. Whether you're drawn in by curiosity about kangaroo-related trivia or the effects of jet lag on Australian musicians, you'll stay for the infectious energy and undeniable hits that have cemented Alien Nosejob as one of the most distinctive voices in modern rock.

Gym Tonic are an international four-piece and talk of the town when it comes to hyped-up synth punk. In some parallel universe, DEVO, Half Japanese and The Residents grew into one and decided to channel their energy into songs about nuclear catastrophes, vitamin injections, car sickness and deadly events. Throw melody lines straight out of the Twillight Zone on top and you have an all-around gem

A seemingly endless, tearing maelstrom that pulls the listener into the depths of the past and in the next moment hurls them back into the here and now of the sometimes barely bearable present. The sound of the Berlin band Fotokiller clearly borrows from the Post-Punk era of the 80s, without merely getting lost in the nostalgia of the past. Existential fears about the future, love - what else - and the struggle for mental health in an efficiency-driven everyday life between concrete walls are the topics of the lyrics. With their heads held high, the band balances on the edge of day-to-day insanity, threatening to slip into the abyss of eternal gloom at any moment, only to emerge from it in the next moment with persistent strength, dancing and defying the pitfalls and problems of living in the big city. After the release of the demo tape „Lenses“ in December 2020, their debut album „Eerie Nostalgia“ was released in July 2023.
