In dem Dokumentarfilm geht es um die Besetzung der Lincoln Klinik in New York City im Jahr 1970, die zum Lincoln Detox Center wurde: ein Ort von und für Heroinabhängige, in dem mit Akupunktur und politischer Bildung auf die Heroinepidemie reagiert wurde.
Der revolutionären Allianz zwischen der Black Panther Party und der puerto – ricanischen Young Lords Organization ging es dabei um gesundheitliche Autonomie inmitten der krank machenenden Verhältnisse. 

Die Radikalität dieser sozialpolitischen Organisierung ist aktueller denn je – Gesundheitsversorgung wird zum Luxus, die neoliberal und individualisiert organisiert wird. 

Nach dem Film gibt es einen kurzen Input zur Doku und dann möchten wir gemeinsam darüber diskutieren.

The documentary is about the occupation of the Lincoln Clinic in New York City in 1970, which became the Lincoln Detox Center: a place by and for heroin addicts, where acupuncture and political education were used to respond to the heroin epidemic. The revolutionary alliance between the Black Panther Party and the Puerto Rican Young Lords Organization was concerned with health autonomy in the midst of sickening conditions. 

The radical nature of this socio-political organization is more current than ever – healthcare is becoming a luxury that is organized in a neoliberal and individualized way. 

After the film there will be a short input on the documentary and then we would like to discuss it together.
