Die in Berlin lebende, karibisch-amerikanische Sängerin und Songwriterin SERA KALO wurde im Juli dieses Jahres mit dem Deutschen Jazzpreis ausgezeichnet. Die Musik ihres Projekts eXante bewegt sich zwischen verschiedenen Genres, sie verbindet Jazz mit orchestralen Klängen und elektronischen Beats. Die Künstlerin zeichnet sich durch poetisches Storytelling und intensive Soundscapes aus. Ihr neues Album erscheint in Kürze.The Berlin-based 

Caribbean-American singer and songwriter SERA KALO (she/her) was honoured with the German Jazz Award in July of this year. The music of her project eXante moves between different genres, combining jazz with orchestral sounds and electronic beats. The artist is characterised by poetic storytelling and intense soundscapes. COSMIC RACE thematisiert in seiner Musik die anhaltenden Auswirkungen des Kolonialismus und die daraus resultierenden kulturellen Veränderungen. Das Projekt des aus Brasilien stammenden Künstlers reflektiert über Identität, Unterschiede und Gemeinsamkeiten in einer postkolonialen Welt. Cosmic Race zelebriert das Universelle und Kollektive, das, was uns eint und wieder zusammenbringen kann.

COSMIC RACE music addresses the ongoing effects of colonialism and the resulting cultural changes. The Brazilian-born artist's project reflects on identity, differences and similarities in a post-colonial world. Cosmic Race celebrates the universal and the collective, that which unites us and can bring us together again.

DJ Schaumkraut, die Künstlerin und DJ, spielt in ihren Sets mit der Popmusik aus verschiedenen Ländern Westafrikas und der Karibik. Nigerianischer Diskosound der 70er Jahre trifft auf Clubedits europäischer Soundkünstler*innen.

DJ Schaumkraut, the artist and DJ, plays in her sets with pop music from different countries in West Africa and the Caribbean. Nigerian disco sound from the 70s meets club hits from European sound artists.

Yagitown Aka DJ Ghostscratcher ist eine multidisziplinäre Künstlerin und Aktivistin. Musik und Geschichtenerzählen sind ein wichtiger Teil ihres kulturellen Erbes. Sie mixt seit den frühen 2000er Jahren, als es für eine schwarze FLINTA*-DJane in Europa noch unmöglich war, sich einen Namen zu machen.

Yagitown Aka DJ Ghostscratcher is a multidisciplinary artist and activist. Music and storytelling is a big part of her cultural heritage. She has been mixing since the early 2000s when it was impossible to get visibility as a Black FLINTA* DJ in Europe.
