Diskussion/Vortrag

On December 6th 2008, the 15-year old Alexandros Grigoropoulos was shot dead by a police officer in the Exarcheia district of central Athens.

For the next weeks, Athens and cities all over Greece erupted into widespread rioting and demonstrations, with protesters clashing daily with the state repression forces. In that period, many took to the streets to express their anger against police violence and economic indignity.

Seventeen years later, what are our takeaways and assessments of these events and their impact on the left in Greece?

We meet for a film and open discussion night.
