The documentary Los Civilizadores - Alemanes en Guatemala (The Civilizers - Germans in Guatemala) follows without commentary a small influential community of german colonizers in Guatemala, who arrived mostly in the beginning of the twentieth century. These settlers own to this day coffee plantations, on which the indigenous population is getting exploited and the resources of the territory extracted. These plantations were built on stolen land. The movie also shows how the settlers were deeply embedded and benefited in the violence of the Guatemalan state and how the indigenous population is battling constantly against land grabs, abuse and massacres.

The movie is in spanish with english subtitles! There will be küfa, all the donations go to publishing a book by a woman from Gaza!
