Discussion – Frontex as a key actor in EU’s border regime and militarization

In the workshop we want to share knowledge about the key role that Frontex, the EU border agency, plays in the Fortress Europe’s border regime, shed light on it violent practices and ways in which it puts people on the move at risk. We also want to touch on topics of militarization of borders and connecting it to anti-militarist resistance. The mandate and resources of Frontex are steadily increasing. These increases are granted and funded by EU member states, which include plans to open new training centres and expand their operations.
We want to think together of ways in which we can organize against this and work towards dismantling the EU’s border regime.
